Preparing for COP

compliance.

 

 

 

This is a series of

sessions tailored to an

organisation and is

designed to guide the

process owners

through to COP

compliance.

 

As needed

organisation

from 2 – 6

Outcomes:

 

• A COP ready partially ISO 9001

compliant QMS.

• Selected process owners trained in

producing and managing their

procedures.

• Awareness and understanding of the

needs of a COP compliant internal audit

system.

• An understanding of what is needed to

meet ISO 9001 from a COP ready

system.

This will support in understanding COP but

will not identify applicable COP legislation or

produce the control plan but will assist in

providing support for control plan building

and provide sample COP control plan

models.

Lead Auditor - planner / manager (QMS) [ISO 9001 and TS16949]

 

This course provides the successful candidate with the skills and tools to conduct internal and supplier audits and some coverage of the standards –Pre course reading is essential. Including basic core tools awareness and  coverage of the skills needed to plan and manage audits and audits programs.

 

 

5 days

Outcomes:

·         Recognised certificate to conduct 1st and 2nd party (Internal and supplier) audits

·         Understanding of the purpose of internal audits.

·         Knowledge of the application of the ‘automotive core tools’

·         Writing audit findings.

·         Audit scenario role play.

·         Limitations of audits.

·         Audit scope and structure.

·         Planning and managing an audit program.

Overview of the purpose of and techniques involved in basic APQP and PPAP the benefits  and what it means to your business

·         Understanding how to complete a PSW

Automotive core tools combined course (Excluding FMEA)

2 day

Outcomes:

Basic coverage of MSA – SPC –APQP and PPAP as listed above but around 70% coverage of the 1 day courses and is certified based on assessment and final test.

 

Open to all - but aimed at internal auditors & those who want to understand the basic principles.

 

 

Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) – awareness.

 

Overview of the purpose and techniques involved in basic Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and what it means to your business.

 

 

1 day

Outcomes:

·         Understanding the concepts of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and its applicability to the evaluation of all processes.

·         Understanding the importance of prioritising process improvement opportunities and the benefits of doing so.

·         Understanding how to identify ways in which a product or process can fail

·         Understanding how to estimate the risk of specific causes with regard to these failures

·         Understanding how to prioritise the actions that should be taken to reduce the chance of failure

·         Understanding how to identify potential failure modes and rate the severity of their effects

·         Understanding how to rank order potential deficiencies and the importance of doing so

·         Understanding how to focus on prevention

·         Certified based on final test.

 

 

 

Open to all – give basic team member and manager level knowledge.

Problem Solving Techniques

 

Overview of the purpose of basic Problem Solving techniques as well as the techniques themselves and what they mean to your business.

 

 

1 day

Outcomes:

·         Understanding the definitions of corrective and preventative action.

·         Understanding management controls and how they contribute towards preventative action.

·         Understanding how to apply a structured approach to resolve problems

·         Understanding the tools and techniques of problem solving and what is appropriate to a given situation.

·         Understanding how to assess the effectiveness of the corrective and preventative action and its impact on future development.

 

 

 

All on site personnel involved in problem solving including Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, engineering and purchasing

 

Problem Solving Techniques- and practice.

 

As 1 day course but second day includes client focussed real life facilitated problem solving utilising techniques learned on day 1

 

2 day

Outcomes: As above, plus-

·         Includes practice in use of the tools and coaching.

·         Mentoring / practice session.

      

All on site personnel involved in problem solving including Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, engineering and purchasing

 

Management system development and process ownership.

 

A 1 or 2 day course focussed on  real life facilitated QMS development (second day if booked includes more mentoring and process development).

(Note this can be followed by occasional verification check sessions over the system development and embedding period if needed.)

·         Explanation of turtle diagrams.

·         Process management through – flow charts.

Overview of ISO and if needed TS 16949 to demonstrate the importance of a QMS to Managers.

·         Importance of a management system,

·         The 8 principles of quality management.

 

Any management team members who have limited or no knowledge of or belief in the benefits of operating a QMS.
